What's the role?
For our international Research and Development team, located in Lanzenkirchen near Vienna, we are hiring an experienced Research and Development Expert, to built-up and maintain competence for the development of ventilated façade products and technologies according to global Hilti AG standards. With your knowledge and your drive to achieve outstanding results, you will get the chance to generate innovations for our installation portfolio, trough utilizing advanced development methods and manufacturing technologies.

Our site in Lanzenkirchen, based in the south of Vienna, is Hilti´s Competence Center for Ventilated Façade and Installation Systems for Pipe rings and Heavy modular systems. As part of our Business Unit Installation we provide product development, supply, marketing and engineering. Our highly motivated international team works together with colleagues from all over the world in an entrepreneurial environment to bring innovative new products to the market.
What does the role involve?
In your role, you act as the interface between marketing, engineering, supply and production with focus on technology exchange. Besides, you develop fundamental concepts in terms of product- or manufacturing technology in coordination with cooperate research, external institutes and suppliers. Furthermore, you support the interdisciplinary development team with product knowhow and technical expertise, while defining and executing training modules, design guidelines and rules. The continues development of our internal information database and methods as well as the drafting of assessments and reports are also main components of your field of responsibility. Moreover, you coordinate the knowledge enhancement in the installation business for our global development community.

What you need is:
- Doctoral / PhD or equivalent degree in engineering with an in-depth understanding for relevant state of the art development methods
- 5+ working experience in scientific project management or in a similar position, incl. proven experience in functional leading of project teams
- Excellent communication, networking and teamworking skills in an international environment
- Strong expertise to anticipate trends and drivers in the area of installation systems, combined with proven professional and methodological skills
- Passionate about developing new innovative solutions, technologies and processes
- Fluent in English (verbally and written), additional languages are a plus
This position is subject to the collective agreement for employees in metal trade, employment group IV which states a minimum salary of € 2.682,80 per month - gross (in Austria it is legally obliged to announce at least a gross monthly salary). Based on your individual professional skills and know-how and previous experience, we are willing to negotiate and offer an attractive performance-oriented remuneration package highly above the minimum salary.
